Qualification of therapists at ISST
ISST Team – Education
University degree (usually 10-12 semesters) in the field of rehabilitation science with at least one specialisation relevant to rehabilitation and/or medical/dental studies with subsequent specialist training.
Following general training, non-medical practitioners complete 3 years of specialised training, work shadowing and supervised therapeutic work at ISST. Finally, the wide range of interdisciplinary specialist knowledge on diagnosis, therapy organisation and the practical implementation of therapy is demonstrated in a colloquium. Successful completion of the programme is confirmed by the award of the ISST Diploma in Rehabilitation Therapy.

Special qualifications of ISST staff
- Specialised knowledge of the application of diagnostic methods and diagnostic material
- High level of communication and social skills to establish and maintain a trusting therapy situation
- Regular further and advanced training in the areas of diagnosis and therapy
- Knowledge of new developments in medical technology, especially in the field of rehabilitation
- Comprehensive psychological knowledge of the psychological care of patients, optimisation of the therapist/patient relationship, to maintain motivation.
- Ability to individualise therapeutic work, taking into account the respective abilities of the patients
- Progressive diagnostic adjustment of effort and necessity for a needs-based therapy programme
- Feedback for patients on the basis of a follow-up diagnosis
- Cost-effective organisation of treatments
- Internal and external co-operation: constructive exchange of experience with other experts
- Flexible, time-based adjustment of treatment, spread over 6 days per week
- Knowledge of medical and rehabilitation technology
- Good written and spoken foreign language skills
