During numerous study visits to universities and clinical and scientific institutes in the USA, Spain and South America, which she completed together with her husband Dr Klaus Berndsen, she studied the latest research in the fields of rehabilitation science, brain research and functional muscle therapy. She also leads international projects on therapy and technology research for disabled and non-disabled people and treats patients in various countries around the world.
She subsequently carried out scientific studies as part of numerous international projects on therapy and technology research for disabled and non-disabled people.
Sabine Berndsen is the author and co-author of book publications and numerous scientific articles in specialist books and journals, as well as a speaker at national and international congresses. She organises interdisciplinary working groups and projects for children and families. Since 1995 she has been a lecturer at the University of Witten-Herdecke and since 2006 a lecturer at the University of Frankfurt am Main, where she teaches the theory and clinical practice of functional therapy methods in the Department of Dentistry and Orthodontics. She initiates and supervises various research projects in this field.
Treatment methods, patents and innovative developments researched and developed by Sabine and Dr Klaus Berndsen are recognised and used worldwide. The results of their work are frequently presented in the public media. Her opinion is sought as an expert on various specialist medical articles.
